"For You" Stenciled Background Card

Are you enjoying these weekly card ideas? I hope you're feeling inspired and are trying some of the techniques I'm sharing with you. All this month, I'm sharing how a stencil can really dress up your cards. This week's "Jen's Card" is a "For You" card with a gold, misted background that really makes the card shine. Echo Park Paper generously donated many of the products shown today, and I want to give them a shout out for the amazing goodies!

To create this card, I taped the stencil on top of the light coral cardstock and then used Heidi Swapp gold mist to mist the stencil. I let it drive overnight (I really wanted it dry). Then I added a layer of darker coral cardstock to the bottom of the card. This strip was embossed with an embossing folder from Echo Park. I layered some white branches, green palm leaves, and black stems to create some visual impact on my card. The "For You" die cut phrase is layered on a gold die cut circle. There is a LOT of drama in card, and I think one of my girl friends would really love this card.

Take a closer look at this card and pin your favorite images for inspiration later!
